Make it a habit to turn off your computer when you’re not in the office. Set your computer to go to sleep automatically for those short breaks you take. This can cut electricity usage by 70 percent. Try printing less at work or go paperless at times when it is possible. Store information online instead. When receiving junk mail or unwanted magazines by mail, try asking to be removed from the mailing list, limiting the amount of copies they must print out and distribute.

Recycle! Place recycling bins or form a separate pile for materials that can be reused. You can even try purchasing office supplies made out of recycled products. Instead of having to purchase paper plates/utensils for work, try bringing your own washable materials from home. You can use these alternatives to cut some miscellaneous spending and also it goes back to going paperless in the workplace.

Last but certainly not least, practice having a healthier working environment. Encourage your cleaning staff to use non-toxic cleaning products. Be organic when it comes to the interior designing of your building if feasible, such as using organic carpeting and recycled furniture.
